October Update

November 7th, 2008 by Jen

Another month went by super quick! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone. We did slow it done in October mostly, but still had a handful of fun stuff to do.

First, we celebrated Xavier’s first birthday with him and the family. He’s just adorable, with his beautiful blue eyes and it still amazes me how much he looks like Trevor! We got the classic first birthday cake shots, which are hilarious.

I had taken Jordan to a pumpkin patch last year that was close to the house, but our neighbors have been telling us to hit up Rock Creek for the last few years, so I got in touch with Malinda and Trevor and we took all the kiddos out to pick pumpkins. They even had a whole kiddie area with a slide and maze and petting zoo. The kids loved it, and I got some great fall photos.

So of course the biggest event in October is Halloween!!! Since Ryan had to work on the night-of, we made sure to hit all the parties the weekend before. The kids costumes turned out to be pretty cute - Jordan was a bride and Caleb was the Hulk, although he would have been Spiderman again this year if I’d have let him wear that poor torn up costume.

July Update

August 17th, 2008 by Jen

Well, as you can see, I had to dedicate an entire post just to the Texas vacation… so there was actually a few other notable events in July.

Obviously, the first was Ryan’s birthday, so I made him a yellow cake with a fruit flag [see below]. He played a softball tournament that day and then we ran over to Daisy Duke’s where my brother Stevie works.

Toward the end of the month, Jordan had a talent show for her
"BASE" program. She and her girlfriends danced to Hannah Montana’s "Rocktar." It was adorable and we shot video that will be so awesome to show her first boyfriend. :D

That night, I took the kiddos to Kidz Bop Live at the Boulder Theatre. I was so impressed, these kids and the two adults that performed were amazing. At the end of the show, they threw out Beach Balls and Caleb caught one and then they signed anything you brought to them afterward.

March Update

August 16th, 2008 by Jen

Moving right along… March was odd this year also, since we had this freak early Easter and of course it had to be the weekend of Jordan’s birthday also!

So, we ended up having a Build-A-Bear party with Jordan and her friends and then a second party at the house with the family on Easter Sunday. I got awesome pictures of all the kiddos with their bears [funniest part - not one of them actually picked a BEAR to create]. I posted all the pictures in the Birthdays 2008 folder.

My dad also had a funky Chorale concert which featured some Beatles songs so I have to include this picture:

Whew! End of the year coming up…

December 28th, 2007 by Jen

Well, we had Ryan’s family’s party last Saturday night. It was at his Grandma’s house, which I hadn’t seen yet, so that was great. Also, his Uncle Troy and Aunt Pauline made it out from Grand Junction, so that was awesome too! Ryan’s great Grandma was also there, so we got a ton of family photos with everyone.

Christmas Eve & Day we actually spent lounging around the house, opening presents and relaxing! It was nice not to have to drive all over trying to see everyone since we planned around the days themselves this year. Sean called us asking for pictures of the snow because it was 65 degrees in Texas… lucky!!

Yesterday, we went to my dad’s place for their Christmas celebration. It was a good time because all of the grandkids were able to make it and we got a ton of pictures there too.

eBay Christmas Party

December 14th, 2007 by Jen

My Christmas party was at the Hotel Monaco this year… and I’ve never been there - it was VERY swanky! Of course, it was on a Thursday night, so we didn’t stay too late. It was a nice dinner and great drinks and good company, too. :)

“Holiday Shows”

December 10th, 2007 by Jen

Kindercare hosted Caleb’s “Holiday” Show and we video-taped the hilarity… in Caleb’s class, there was this boy who decided to shout the lyrics to Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and all you can hear in the video is everyone in the audience cracking up… the camrea was shaking because I was laughing so hard. Good stuff.

Then, over the weekend, Jordan had her caroling at the “Holiday” Shop at her school. It was too cute; they had tables setup for the kids to decorate cookies, candy canes, write letters to Santa, face-painting, all kinds of stuff. I got a close-up video of Jordan singing “All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth”… too freakin’ cute.

Merry Christmas!

November 27th, 2007 by Jen

I don’t want to talk about Sunday’s game. The party was awesome, however!!! We had a great time and from what everyone said, they had fun too!

Raquel sent me the funniest thing I’ve ever seen today, so I created a Christmas e-card for everyone too, click on the link and you’ll laugh your rear off as well!!!

Anyway, short post, too much stuff to do.
